Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson is considered the best candidate for the role of Donald Trump’s crypto advisor. Rick McCracken, a Stake Pool Operator, started the buzz on X by suggesting that Charles Hoskinson could play a key role in shaping crypto policy under the Trump-Vance administration. McCracken pointed to Hoskinson as the most suitable person for the job. In this context, he mentioned Hoskinson’s great contributions to the crypto industry. McCracken hinted that Trump preferred Hoskinson to oversee crypto affairs.
Many other prominent players who supported MaCracken’s expectation were also involved in the discussion. Input Output Global President Tamara Hassen supported the idea of Hoskinson becoming a crypto advisor. She also stated that this would be a ‘wise decision’ for Donald Trump. An influencer with the pseudonym Dr.oz also suggested that Hoskinson was likely to be elected. Supporters argue that Hoskinson’s deep involvement in Blockchain innovation and his push for regulatory clarity make him an ideal candidate.
The Cardano inventor has been consistently advocating for clearer guidelines from the SEC. Hence, this has further cemented his reputation as a forward-thinking leader. However, the discussions remained only speculation. There is no official confirmation yet. Looking closely, there are stronger candidates, such as Elon Musk, who remained Trump’s main supporter during the election campaign. This makes the decision by Donald Trump uncertain.

Meanwhile, no official information on the matter has emerged. However, it is worth remembering that Hoskinson had a meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei in September. At the time, the wider crypto community was wondering the reason for the meeting. It was only implied that the Cardano founder was integrating digital solutions to be realised in Argentina.
Javier Milei and Elon Musk, a key supporter of the Donald Trump Campaign, share a close bond. Therefore, this may affect Hoskinson’s chances of becoming a crypto advisor. However, it is worth noting that David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine and organiser of the popular Bitcoin Conference 2024, also has direct close ties to the Trump campaign. While all of this is speculative, Hoskinson and Bailey stand out as two important candidates.
